Link's Awakening is my favorite followed only by Majora's mask and the recent A Link between Worlds. That being said, I feel like you've captured the feeling of both the hope, courage and despair in that that theme really carries both musically and lyrically. It really did have one of the most depressing endings of any Zelda game.

Troisnyx responds:

I'll say (for the ending). Watching it made me feel as though my heart was being wrenched! By the time I did this version, Chuggaaconroy was about to tackle the final boss in the Wind Fish's Egg, so I doubt this cover actually did get to his attention -- but no matter. Because I learned of a beautiful story, I wanted to put it into song, and here it is.

Thanks for listening though -- glad you liked it. ^_^

If anyone ever made a fan film(or flash) based off Link's Awakening this would be the on the soundtrack.

VGSongbird responds:

Lol this just put the biggest smile on my face :D Thanks

I love the concept but I feel like the square tracks were laid on really thick. Almost overpowers the melody of your mashup. I still enjoy the crap out of this song that being said.

VGSongbird responds:

Hmm. It's possible. I'm really partial to Square vs Saw, so I suppose I didn't notice.
Thanks for the honest review.

Wow, that was amazing! your range of characters just blew me away i can tell that you'll be going places

MichaelJ responds:

Thanks! :D

kickass arrangment but it makes my speakers crack

CYB3R-FOX responds:

its the guitar. It came out scratchy. thanks for the feedback though.

I really like but it feels like the flutes trill a little too quickly for the pace of the song in the beginning. while I like that the strings aren't overpowering the attack on the strings section is a little slow( maybe that was your intention?) overall it's still pretty awesome. try playing around with the dynamics to give it a new expression, that way even though I know this song it still feels different.

MF-Greth responds:

You're definitely right about the flute.

I really like your styling in this one, it has this kinda cheesy eighties feel to it. do you have a drum sequencer? because If you do then I would suggest working on mixing up the drums a bit

swordsofe responds:

Thank you for taking the time to listen. I try to stay close to the original composition and adding my own musical thoughts. i do not use drum sequencers all tho I have four different programs for that. With the song in 3/4 meter I did not want to much for the drums. Just what was needed.

VSI

which one are you using? I really enjoy your arragements of these songs and all your other game songs, it would be really cool if you'd be able to do a golden sun as well that game had a bunch of awesome music in it!

HexMonkey responds:

This one, I think, is only using Edirol Orchestral. Later ones are using a combination of Edirol Orchestral, Philharmonik , and FL Keys.

AWESOME

blown away from your rendition I really dig the dynamics you put into the song, not many people use them in songs (i dont mostly becasue I forget I can change them) I especially like your choice in instruments

HexMonkey responds:

Thank you, I try to change up the songs a bit from the original otherwise it won't stand out enough from other remixes. Thanks you very much for the review.

your voice sounds nothing like him

but your writing is hilarious!

bigjonny13 responds:

Lol, actually, it's all Vegeta dialogue from the series.
